A short, rugged hill just north of downtown with a route for every ability: the direct south face for the sure-footed, or a gentler dirt road and rocky trail on the eastern slope. Halfway up, wind- and rain-carved sandstone caves form the swirling, skull-like hollows that give the hill its name. A summit cross marks the top, and turkey vultures ride the evening thermals here — a favorite quick sunset hike over the Sea of Cortez.
